AFTER Hours

Officially Santas in Shorts is only scheduled from 3 pm until 9 pm but I sure don’t want to leave everyone all dressed up with nowhere to go. Of course, any Santas are welcome to continue to hang around Doggie’s, either in the beer garden or inside. But some of you might want to stretch your legs a bit. If so, I have some suggestions to make.

Take a hike up Pugh Street and check out the Social in the Scholar Hotel in the old Glennland building. They’ve prepared a special drink called the Moscow Yule for the occassion.

From the Social, it’s only half a block to the Brewery over on McAllister Alley. Ray Rockey and crew have concocted their version of a Hurricane for our little beach party and are calling it a “Storm Warning”. Try one out.

I’d also recommend Local Whiskey, Central Reservations, or Bill Pickle’s as other establishments within a one block walk of Doggie’s. They all have a relaxed atmosphere with multiple TVs to sit and wind down from the afternoon/evening and they are aware that Santas in Shorts is taking place.

Lastly, why not reverse things? Cafe 210 is the traditional starting spot for the Santa Crawl. As we turn things on end with a Christmas in July celebration, make the Cafe the end spot for your day of Santas in Shorts.
